pynmo exists to give displaced tech workers community, coaching, and connections that help them reach their next career opportunity. Many of our members are going through a hard time. This Code of Conduct keeps pynmo a safe, professional place for all of them.
As users of this app, we all sign and honor the pynmo Code of Conduct.
1. Post and Communicate Responsibly
"Keep This Space Safe"
We keep every post, comment, message, and image safe for everyone. The following are not allowed anywhere on pynmo:
- Hate speech or discrimination of any kind.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or stalking.
- Nudity or sexual content.
- Violent or graphic content.
- Sharing another member's personal information without their permission.
We speak about past employers with professionalism, and we honor confidentiality agreements and protect proprietary information, theirs and ours.
2. Be Professional
"We Are All Professionals Here"
We treat every member, coach, and Cohort teammate the way we would treat a colleague:
- No romantic or sexual advances toward any member.
- No inappropriate, abusive, or disrespectful behavior.
- No spamming, unsolicited promotion, or repeated unwanted messages.
- No impersonating a coach, pynmo leader, or another member.
- We keep coaching sessions and payments on the pynmo platform.
3. Resolve Cohort Issues with Respect
"Talk First, Escalate with Purpose"
Working together under pressure creates friction, and that is normal. When we disagree with a Cohort teammate, we take these steps, in order:
- Talk to them directly and privately first, never in the Cohort thread.
- Assume good intent, and focus on the issue rather than the person.
- Move to a call if text isn't working.
- Bring it to our cohort lead if two genuine attempts don't resolve it.
4. Report Issues
"Report, Don't Confront"
If we see a violation of this Code, we do not confront the member ourselves. Every post, comment, and project has a Report button, or a message can be sent to hello@pynmo.com. Reports are confidential, and retaliating against someone for reporting is itself a violation.
pynmo may remove content, restrict features, or remove members from the community when this Code is violated. Serious violations result in immediate and permanent removal. They are:
- Harassment.
- Hate speech.
- Impersonation.
- Any romantic or exploitative conduct toward a member.
Where behavior may be illegal, pynmo will cooperate with law enforcement.
5. Records, Transparency & Updates
- Every enforcement action is logged: who, what, why, and which response was taken.
- The pynmo team tracks patterns over time to catch repeat behavior across posts, Cohorts, and coaching relationships, and to continue improving the community experience.
- pynmo publishes a periodic summary of enforcement activity (counts and categories only, never identities) so the community can see the Code of Conduct is real and applied.
- pynmo may update the Code of Conduct over time. We all agree to these guidelines and any updates.
